Another minor has died, and this marks the 5th death of a child for this week. This time it happened in Georgetown Village, Stann Creek. 16 month old Makayla Ramirez was left at home with a babysitter while the mother went to work on Wednesday and when she returned that evening she learned that her child had died. According to the 18 year old sitter Nikia Cancio, she had fed the baby rice and a bottle of chocolate milk before putting her down for a nap, and after checking on the child 2 hours later she found the baby, unresponsive lying down in a brown color sticky liquid substance, appearing to be vomit. The mother of the child, 21 year old Laruni Castillo told police that her baby had no medical history and was not sick when she dropped her off that morning. No signs of injuries or foul play were observed on the body.
