Joseph Budna remains in a Guatemala City jail tonight - and while his phone privileges have been taken away - he managed to have someone WhatsApp a picture of a handwritten note today. Based on the source, we believe it to be authentic and in it he accused the Belize Embassy in Guatemala of, quote, "asking the prison authorities or Guatemalan authorities not to allow me to communicate and they know why."
He adds, "instead of assisting - they are plotting against me and then fool the Belizean people...the GOB is behind all this….and continues to plot with Guatemalan authorities to keep me incommunicado." End quote.
We did ask the embassy in Guatemala to comment on this but up to news time had not gotten a response.
Budna says his injuries are still not healed and he urges the government to vote, "act now in my return process and to hold each and every player responsible for what they did to me". End quote.
