Two MIDH employees are recovering from their injuries at the KHMH tonight - lucky to be alive after their government assigned pickup collided with a loaded cement trailers.
It happened around 2:00 this afternoon near Mile 9 on the George Price Highway when the westbound Isuzu D-Max pickup truck clipped the rear end of the trailer transporting cement bricks.
That caused the driver to lose control, flip, and veer off the highway into a ditch, while the flatbed truck also shot off the highway and landed in the ditch.
Passersby assisted in pulling the driver and his passenger from the pickup. Both received injuries.
Both injured drivers were taken to hospital, where tonight they are stable with cuts, bruises and a lot of pain. The driver reportedly sustained a broken arm.
