And as you heard him say, his attorney, Edwin Flowers has issued lawyer letters to at least 3 media houses for what he classifies as defamatory statements made by Budna's attorney, Arthur Saldivar - and aired on the news.
Channel 7 received one of those letters - our first from Musa. So we asked him today what was that final straw after all his years in the cut and thrust of politics.
Courtney Menzies:
"How did you go from being a good guy to a boy named Sue?"
Kareem Musa, Minister of Labor

"Yeah. So, as you know, it's been 11 years, since I've been in political life as a public figure, and I have enjoyed quite, wonderful relationship with the media, taking some tough licks on the chin at times. And I believe that that is all in fair comment. But at the end of the day, I do have to return to private life as an attorney. I do have children who look up to me, and so I have a reputation to preserve, and I'm certain that the media can appreciate in this particular circumstance, I even warned, by text because I saw channel 5 had put out a post before, and I sent it around to all the media houses warning that this is clearly defamatory information. And so I have to take a personal stand. It doesn't mean there's any love lost with the media. Of course not. But at the same time, I do have a reputation to protect."
