And while he doesn't know much about the Kenagy case, what about the Budna case? He's not the Minister of Home Affairs anymore but we asked him, once again, whether he believes what no other minister - or even the commissioner of police - has stated: that a crime was committed against a citizen of Belize on the night of August 22nd.
Courtney Menzies:
"Sir, do you believe in no uncertain terms that a crime was committed on August 22nd in Orange Walk when Joseph Budna was abducted?"
Kareem Musa, Minister of Immigration

"As much as you know, I am in a court battle with Joseph Budna in a civil matter. I know I'm going to be in a court battle with the media for repeating some of the very libelous, defamatory allegations of Arthur Saldivar. I can still say to you that Joseph Budna is within his right to take the matter, to the Supreme Court, and I have a right to defend myself, because I know I had nothing to do with that. But when you look at it, it is clear from the video footage that a crime was committed. It doesn't justify the fact, that we're talking here about a very dangerous individual. And yes, so many vulnerable children are now safe, safer because he's no longer on the streets of Belize. But at the same time, two wrongs don't make it right. So, in my opinion, yes, it is clear a crime was committed."
"I did everything in my purview, including encouraging the release of the, video footage, including calling for an independent investigation. So in terms of my personal position, I know that I did absolutely nothing wrong. And I did absolutely everything right that I could have."
