And as Minister of Immigration, Musa said the case of Texas oilman Rhett Kenagy did not reach his Department.
Kenagy and his party flew into the country on a private jet on January 15th. They held business meetings with some well connected persons and when they were flying out on the 17th - Kenagy was found with ablated weapon by PGIA security.
He was briefly held and then allowed to go with a. Reprimand and the surrender of his weapon.
Police said he had gotten clearance by the US Embassy and Interpol. Our internet searches show that he was named in an investigative news report into fuel smuggling for a Mexican cartel.
Musa dodged all that though, he said it's not within his Ministry's purview:
Kareem Musa, Minister of Immigration

"So the Ministry of Immigration, as you know, does not have purview over what you bring into the country. That is for customs and the police department. From what I am informed, based on media reports, he brought in the firearm into the country and was allowed to leave after that. And so that is, the immigration Department can only allow you, the right to leave if it is that you have been cleared by the police department. So clearly it was he was cleared by the department before he left."
