Police in Roaring Creek Village are investigating the reported theft of a firearm from a vehicle belonging to Kyla Reneau, a police constable attached to the Roaring Creek Station - who also lives in the village. Reneau reported that sometime after 7:30 pm on Thursday, February 12, she was socializing at the village basketball court near the community center when she left her black and grey Glock 43X pistol, valued at about $3,500 Belize currency, under the driver's seat of her black Chevy Equinox SUV. When she later attempted to retrieve it while leaving the area, the firearm was missing. Police searched the area but could not find it. Initially police did detain two BDF soldiers for questioning. Investigations into the theft are ongoing.
