Another police matter trending this week was PC Phillip Garbutt and the abuse of his partner and her son.
So can a lawman be seen to be doing such things?
The compol commented extensively saying that they have submitted a file to the DPP for guidance on the matter:
Dr. Richard Rosado, Commissioner of Police

"The Belize Police Department takes any allegations of domestic violence from our officers with the utmost seriousness because we have recognized that when individuals in position of trust are allegations of this sort are made against them, it not only harm the victim but it also erodes the trust, the community trust from the police department hence the reason we have always taken decisive action both criminal and internal against those individuals."
"Like my staff officer had mentioned, the police department did reach out to the human development we have recognized certain breaches in the protocol and now we have submitted a file or about to submit the file to the director of public persecution office for her guidance, but we are hoping that we can be able to reinstitute charges against him."
