27-year-old Kenroy Daly and 26-year-old Ahkeem Danderson are on remand tonight after a daring robbery at the Inhale Vape Shop on Daly Street yesterday evening.
Just after 6:00 p.m., 28-year-old while attendant Dylan Vasquez was behind the counter counting over $20,000 in cash from a car sale, two men walked in dressed in camouflage resembling police uniforms, their faces hidden by motorcycle helmets.
One of the men pressed a gun to Vasquez's neck while the other cleared out the cash and, for good measure, grabbed two dozen disposable vapes.
The suspects fled on a motorcycle, but a nearby police patrol quickly responded, triggering a high-speed chase through busy city streets. During the pursuit, one of the men fired shots at officers, putting civilian lives at risk. Police eventually captured both men near the Freetown gas station and recovered two loaded 9mm pistols along with the stolen cash. Both are charged jointly for Robbery and False Pretence of Officer, while Daly faces an additional charge of Aggravated Assault.
In court today the men were read a total of 9 charges between both of them. In court they were unrepresented where they both pleaded not guilty to the charges. Due to the nature of the offenses, they were denied bail and remanded to the Belize Central Prison until June 30, 2026.
