Two men are dead and six people are recovering after a major highway collision on Saturday night. It happened in the hour after the National Agriculture Trade Show when traffic in both directions was heavy. Jaleeza Roberts reports on the death of two electricians:
A group of Digi employees returning to the city from the Agricultural Fair were involved in a serious head-on collision Saturday night. The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. when their van struck a westbound Ford Escape.
ACP Hilberto Romero, HNCIB
"On Saturday the 2nd day of May 2026 police responded to a fatal road traffic accident between mile 16 and 17 on the George Price Highway. Upon the arrival they saw 2 vehicles: a Ford Van and a black Ford escape along with a motorcycle that had damages. Found trapped inside the SUV were 2 persons who were identified as Nelson Helmsley and Glenn Lamb. They were seen motionless. The driver of the van was identified as Chadwick Ysaguirre and the driver of the motorcycle, David Lambey."
Police say Helmsley clipped the motorcycle and then veered into the lane of the BTL van.

ACP Hilberto Romero, HNCIB
"Information is that the black SUV hit the motorcycle first and there after swerved into the lane of the oncoming van causing a head on collision. Helmsley and Lamb were taken to the KHMH where they were pronounced dead on arrival. An investigation is being carried out into this fatal Road Traffic accident."
"The information I have yes they were speeding but we will await the urine sample results to determine if alcohol was a factor."
At least four BTL employees received various injuries:
ACP Hilberto Romero, HNCIB
"The persons are all in stable condition, some were released and some are receiving further treatment."
