And in other news… Another cyberbullying complaint made by the former Commissioner of Police Chester Williams was dismissed today after he failed to appear in court.
In April of 2025, Williams - who was still Compol - made a complaint against Constable Barry Flowers-Mai alleging that the junior officer had bullied him with a nasty comment under a social media news post.
But when Barry Mai Flowers showed up today at court for the start of the trial, Williams was a no show and the charges were dismissed.
Flowers appeared unrepresented in court today before magistrate Neeshad Mohammed. Before dismissing the charge the Senior Magistrate said, "This is a disrespect to the court," after he noted that the virtual complainant is the former COMPOL and added that he should know the respect to be shown to the court. The magistrate added, "This court will not be used as a grounds for any personal vendetta. These are very serious matters. This is a court."
Outside the courtroom Flowers discussed the favourable outcome with glee. And yes, it is that same PC Barry Flowers whom Joseph Budna claims abducted him.
Barrington Flowers, Cyber bully charge dismissed

"The Magistrate was clear about the cyberbullying law that you cannot use it for personal vendetta. If someone does not like you, you cannot bring him to court because he does not like the way you administrate. I did not like it and, thank God, the court is fair; they struck it out."
Anita-
"Mr Flowers, I mean your name has been in the news a lot. You had one matter before the court; what has that done for you as an officer whose name has been in the news so much? What has that done to your reputation?"

"I don't want to comment on that as yet because, calling someone's name does not mean the person is guilty; there is a penalty for calling someone's name and the person had not yet been charged. So a day will come when I will address that one."
Flowers is the second person to appear in court for a cyberbullying charge made by the former Compol, and on both occasions Williams did not show up. On the first occasion he said he did not receive the summons. We reached out to Williams for a comment but up to news time he had not answered.
