And also at the head table was their Shadow Minister for Transport, German Tillett. He criticized the National Bus Company, especially after the CEO quit - as we told you earlier. Here's a snippet of that speech.

German Tillett, Shadow Minister, Transport

"We have allegations of revenue leakage where cash collected is not properly accounted for. We have concerns of mismanagement and financial losses and now we are hearing that the CEO Susanna Vanzie has stepped down amid these very issues. So if this is true, then it raises a serious question, who is in control? And who is responsible now for the National Bus Company? And yet despite all this, the government wants to move ahead with a major investment in electric buses. Let me be clear the UDP is not against innovation. But modernization without information is recklessness. Two electric buses were given to Westline as a pilot project. Up to this date, there has been no transport report shared with the Belizean public. Where is the data of the battery life, where is the data on performance under climate conditions, where is the impact of heat, rainfall or operational demands? Are these buses even viable for Belize?"
