"Police have ceased 382 lbs of cannabis following an intelligence led operation that was conducted by officers attached to the mobile interdiction unit. This operation was conducted on Tuesday May 19th 2026 around 8:40 pm when that operational team conducting a search in the vicinity of Ramonal Landing in Patchakan Village, Corozal which led to the discovery of 8 black bags which contained suspected cannabis weighing a total of 382 lbs. the drugs have since been deposited as found property."
Belize's illicit cannabis supply is largely sourced through Mexico and trafficked across illegal border crossings such as Estero which adjoins Patchakan.
