And, in political news, as municipal elections rapidly approach, both major mass parties are starting to shape up their slates. We asked the PM to weigh in on what those slates are looking like, and whether he foresees any divisive conventions.

John Briceno, Prime Minister

"Well the national executive met on Monday and we went through all of that and we have many of the present councillors that are going to run again. We are going to have some conventions in some areas quite likely Orange Walk Town, we may not. Orange Walk Town has been very successful as a council; we don't see any problems there. In Belize City I don't expect any hostilities about 2 young men that are considering running, and I think they are excellent choices for Belize City. So, whichever one was to emerge as the next mayoral candidate I think Belize City will be in good hands."
