The spirit of giving is contagious especially in the Christmas season and today we found an entire law firm doing just that. For the past 10 years Young's Law Firm headed by Attorney Michael Young has been silently assisting the Port Loyola Pre-School with any assistance that it could. Every year with the exception of a couple of years the company and its staffers have made it to the pre-school providing the children there with a Christmas party complete with food and gifts. The company's namesake Michael Young today told us that his hope is that others within the community could do the same.
Michael Young, Attorney
"The school of course is like a second home to the children. The school itself has its needs, the children have their needs because Belize is a poor country and there is so much that we can do for the schools and for the children.
It is not sufficient to just help schools and children with Christmas gifts at Christmas, there is an ongoing need right through the year. Christmas is a good time because of the expectation, because it is opportunistic to show children, whether parents or whether teachers, that you care for them and that they are important. That is not the end of it and this is why we have committed ourselves, in fact we've launched a program already to adopt this particular school and so we keep in touch with them during the year."
