On Wednesday we reported on a tragic boating accident that took the life of one San Pedro resident, Silvio Camara. He drowned when the skiff he was in along with 7 others went down in rough southern seas.

Today the area rep said that it's risky going out to sea, but that Camara was a beloved teacher on the island.

Andre Perez, Area Rep, Belize Rural South
"I knew him, everybody knew he was a former teacher, Silvio Camara. He taught my daughter and many people. He was a good social studies teacher, It's an unfortunate accident. It's one of those things that with the sea, it's always there is an inherent risk and it's an unfortunate incident."
