Earlier this month, fifty children ages 9-14 from all over southern Belize converged at Ya'axché's Field Station, which is located in the Golden Stream Corridor Preserve, for a highly interactive week of fun learning.

Ya'axché's annual summer camp aims to educate and increase awareness on the importance of sustainable forest management and how communities can be more involved. Campers learned about climate-smart farming practices and sustainable livelihoods. Tonight we bring you a taste of the activities the campers participated in.

This year's summer camp was held under the theme "Empowering communities, Conserving biodiversity, Connecting the world".
