You may have seen the Caribbean Culture and Lifestyle Magazine. It's a travel journal from McNab Visual Strategies, which tells tourists about unique cultural experiences for enhance their Belize visit.

The magazine is now at its 7th edition which focuses on conservation and eco-friendly practices. And to promote the entities featured in this issue, McNab Visual Strategies is hosting what they call an Eco-Marketplace Expo. They're hoping that the public, will come out tomorrow afternoon and learn about eco-friendly products you may not know about.

Tanya McNab, the Creative Director of the Magazine, hosted us on a sneak preview of the expo, where she told us about the event:

Tanya McNab - Creative Director, CCL

"We're always looking at McNab Visuals as well as Caribbean Culture and Lifestyles for a value-added solution and services for our advertisers and customers. And so, we theme each magazine with a different theme. So, it can be romance. It can be cuisine. And so, we thought it was quite appropriate given the conversation about conservation globally, to do a conservation issue. And that sparked a spiral effect of creating all types of opportunities. And I said, you know what, in addition to launching the magazine in its 7th edition, that it was really important to try and give the exhibitors that are here a voice and a platform. And so, we decided to do this eco marketplace expo, in order to give them some exposure, but also for Belizeans to come and know what alternatives are available. Sometimes, we're not making a switch, or we're not making a change just because we just don't know what's out there. And so, we were really received well. We're completely sold out. We have 21 exhibitors here tomorrow and some that we just couldn't sell booths to because we didn't have space. And so, we hope to grow this event in the next year."

"The Department of Environment is working on the phasing out of single-use plastics and what that plan is gonna look like. They're gonna be here tomorrow as well, educating the public as to what that is. We know that it's a big question that a lot of people have. What is the plan? So, we're really happy to have them on board, and that they're gonna be here. We also have everything from energy management, solar panels, water systems, food, and beverage alternatives, to clamshells, to go products, all eco-friendly, alternatives to plastic straws. We have paper straws. We have bamboo straws. We also have cleaning solutions, fashion, hair products, beauty products, lionfish jewelry. So, there's a little bit of something for everybody."

The eco-marketplace expo takes place at the Biltmore Plaza Hotel's River Hall, from midday until 6:00. Attendance is free.
