And while that tablet came from the Apex educational authority - we have the story of another tablet donation - this one from a grassroots community group.

G. Michael Reid has been steadily building the Charlie Burton Foundation for the children living on or near Gibnut Street in Belize City.

Reid has been working with at-risk children in his neighbourhood, and now, he has teamed up with Francis Woods and Heritage Bank to provided them with tablets.

We understand that the owner of Heritage Bank recently acquired 150 tablets to donate for educational purposes. 70 of them have been handed over to the Belize Central Prison to help inmates with their education, and the rest have been given to schools in the City.

10 of them were given to children who make use of the Charlie Burton Park, and with the help of 13 Productions, here's what the organizers had to say about the aid they hope that the devices will bring to the recipients:

As you heard, the tablets have apps installed on it to provide Standard 2 and Standard 3 lessons in Math, English, and Science, without the need for internet access.
