Schools can re-open on April 12th. That was confirmed in a Cabinet brief that came out just a few minutes ago. It says, quote, "Cabinet approved the plan from the Ministry of Education for the phased return to face-to-face instruction of schools at all levels and sectors across the country beginning April 12, 2021." End quote. We note that date is after what would have been the regular Easter break.
So, that phased return means that only schools that are ready to open with COVID measures in place will do so on April 12th, while others will open as they meet the standards to be COVID safe.
The drive to open schools is complemented by the ongoing drive to vaccinate teachers.
