At the top of the news, we told you that the Cabinet approved the phased reopening of school beginning April 12th. An internal memo from the Ministry of Education details recommendations put forward by the COVID 19 Educational Task Force on how to approach the phased-in return to school. First, schools will be asked to complete a phased-in return application form. This form will collate the demographics and the school's plan for who will return and how.
Secondly, schools will schedule a visit from their DEC online and the DEC team will visit the school to complete the Green Light Standard Safety Checklist.
Finally, schools who have completed all requirement will receive certification and will be able to begin to have their student in the classroom.
The memo also says that a survey conducted from March 10 to March 15 received responses from 55% of teachers indicated that while many teachers still want more information about the vaccine, about half are ready to take it and many are ready to return to classes.
