More and more schools are incorporating technology into their classrooms, and All Saints is no exception. They had a vision of putting projectors into the classes, and today, they received a donation of 10 of them, courtesy of the Ministry of Education - and their area rep who is the Minister of Education. At a handing over ceremony, the Minister told us that it's a part of a project to shift schools into the digital age, and the principal of All Saints explained how the projectors will be utilized by the teachers.

Francis Fonseca, Minister of Education
"We have reformed the entire curriculum and really at the foundation of this new curriculum is an understanding and appreciation of the critical importance of science and technology. So, we can't just talk about these things, we can't put in place new policies, new structures and not equip our schools with the tools they need to deliver the kind of education we want them to deliver. So, this is a part of that commitment making sure that we're equipping our students, our teachers, the classrooms with the capacity to deliver education that is grounded in technology. We know, as I've said many time before that young people today are visual learners, they're born with devices in their hands, that's how they learn best so we have to understand that, we have to embrace that, we have to make sure we are investing in those technologies, those tools that will help them to be more effective students."

Colin Estrada, Principal, All Saints School
"When you look at it, we have been through COVID, so during COVID, our students were in front of devices and so being able to used what we have learned from COVID to bring technology into the classroom, that is the need for the projectors. It is a tool to be able to enhance the education that is being given and also as a tool for teachers to be able to use from that transition from whereby they were just online to whereby they can be in the school. And as what I said earlier, we're also a part of Connected and Coding and once we have the internet in the classroom, teachers will be able to get their devices and also be able to project different topics.t could be used across the board because you could use it in Science whereby you can do a video about germination for example, Belizean studies, there might be videos on the battle of St George's Caye or mathematics so it goes across the board, it's not just one specific subject."
The value of the donation is over $14,000.
