Tonight, over 1000 students in the south are receiving a free education complete with tuition, uniforms, and other school supplies.
It's a free education program that G.O.B. hopes to replicate in the city expanding the number of students provided to up to 1,600.
We got the update on that program this morning when we spoke to C.E.O of Education Dian Maheia. Here's more.

"For the next academic year, yes. We are looking at an expansion of five more schools in the south and that expansion is going to reach a target of 1,600 more students. So, remember this first pilot project with the four schools that we are doing in Belize City, the goal has always been to reach 1000 students and we're just shy of that goal, right? I think we are between 950 and 1000 who have registered and consistently attended school because of course attendance is always something to monitor but, um, we are looking at 1000 for Belize City, um, and now with the rollout and the five schools that we are targeting we are targeting another 1600 students and if you consider the fact that we have some 22,000 students more or less in high school what you are looking at is that with these 9 schools e are going to be touching 2600 students and helping them to get to school and to stay in school."
