And keeping it on the subject of ITVET's - Fonseca also didn't have an answer today to a report of 30 students sent home from the Orange Walk ITVET for unpaid fees. One mother told us her 20 year old son was sent home - even though he had an undertaking from the ministry for financial assistance to cover the fees. Reportedly all students owing more than $300 dollars were sent home.

Today Fonseca said he had not gotten the report:

Francis Fonseca, Minister of Foreign Affairs & Foreign Trade

"I have not heard About that but our policy is not to send students home. We do everything to work very closely with families and parents and students to work out payment plans where that can be worked out so I don't know I don't want to comment on something I don't know about, but I know there is a policy that the home of students is for a failure to pay if fees is a last resort so."

And if he sounds like a man with a lot on his plate, Fonseca surely is - later on he'll discuss his workload with the full-on alphabet soup of portfolio responsibilities at the MFAFT-ECST.
