The Business Process Outsourcing sector is one of the fastest growing in Belize. And a lot of that growth is fueled by international demand for these call centers, but also by the throngs of young graduates who are rushing to work there because the eight or 9 dollars an hour is often the highest wage they can find in the job market.
But while BPO's are giving them a decent wage, are they also killing dreams? Many of these young call center workers studied arts, or humanities or sciences, but because jobs in those sectors aren't available or don't exist, they have to resort to call centers.
