And another case of less than optimal management of public funds, The Benque Viejo Town Board yesterday reported that it lost 58 thousand dollars on the Benque Fiesta. In a post on their Facebook page, the Council basically blames townspeople for not coming out and scolds them saying, quote, "Not supporting administration events does not harm the administration, rather it harms the Benqueño people by not supporting the events." End quote.
In a countering post, no less than one of the elected councillors says, quote, "At no point were the councilors called to discuss the income and expenses of the 2024 fair. This report lacks a lot of important information." End quote. He concludes, quote, "I notice the absence of Bowen's donation in the report, which is a relevant fact that should be included." End quote.

John Briceno, Prime Minister
"No, I've not been appraised. But again, in these instances, sometimes they don't have the proper people to do the proper collections and record keeping, which is very important in these situations. I hope it is not so, but if it is so and you can find the people that are responsible, then we need to hold them accountable. And just as important, I hope that the next year they learn from from from the errors and mistakes of they've done to ensure that this is not ever repeated again."
