And while free education is one thing - the steep cost of fuel was not budgeted into the Ministry of Education's school bus program
We asked the minister if the crushing cost of fuel will impact their school bus program that runs 5 times weekly and twice daily:

"Minister with the increase the cost of diesel you ask have 200+ buses, school buses is that at an additional cost for you now?"
Francis Fonseca, Minister of Foreign Affairs
"Yeah definitely, yeah we have around 280 bus runs and whenever we have these additional costs in fuel we have to sit-down with these bus operators to try to renegotiate within the context of our own budget, how we can supplement those contracts, because they operate on very very thin margins, very small margins. So we are doing that right now and we are working with them we are not asking for any additional funds from Ministry of Finance, but we are looking within our own budget to see how we an supplement those contracts so that they can remain viable for them."
