Another resource that takes a fair slice out of the Education budget is internet access for schools through the digital connect program. Fonseca concedes that access to high speed internet is an essential learning tool but it doesn't come cheap. He discussed the budget:

Francis Fonseca, Minister of Foreign Affairs
"Yeah I think right now it is around ten million I understand it that we are spending on the connect ED program. So I imagine to get full coverage by 2030 that will probably double. So you know but it is an important investment and we work very closely with BTL we have an agreement with digi for that connect ED program. So they are our partners in that program. And you know so it is a significant investment but it is a critical investment in ensuring that we are providing connectivity for our students as you know. You know internet access and wifi access is like water now for our students they need that and they are all thirsty for wifi and internet services and we have to provide it.""
