And one area that the Council tackled today was Dean Street, which was blocked by Miss Jean Longsworth's 117-year-old Sapodilla tree. The tree has been a fixture on Dean Street for decades - and survived the 1931 Hurricane and Hattie - and well as more recent storms like Earl and Richard. But, finally, Lisa ripped it out of the ground, and since Wednesday, it has been splayed across Dean street, like a fallen monarch. And as she sat on her verandah admiring the tree for the last time before it was chopped up, she reminisced on when it was first planted. We spoke with her today:
