Forest Fire Starts From Controlled Burn On Baldy Beacon

A forest fire south of the Baldy Beacon area in the Mountain Pine Ridge last night burned lovely and bright under the full moon. But like all fires, it was very destructive and continued today.

Best reports suggest the fire may have started as a prescribed burn by a timber company with a concession in the area. So it was meant to be controlled but it may have gotten away from them in the night.

Reports say early this morning they went up to continue dealing with it. The fire went down to a nearby gully but was looking to cross over to another hill which would have taken ti to an area known as Pacific Heights.
