And the man causing all this high level turbulence in the government is Joseph Budna. Tonight he remains in a Guatemalan prison - but Jules Vasquez got to interview him at 12:30 today shortly after the Prime Minister released his statement. Not surprisingly, he was not impressed:
Joseph Budna, In Guatemala Prison
"Sending him on 45 days leave is a joke not only for me but for the entire nation of Belize. I was expecting that Rosado would have been moved immediately without option of resigning because this is a crime, how could someone be trusted as Commissioner of Police, the highest in the police department and is lending for an international kidnapping of the citizen of the same country that he pledged to serve and protect."
"This is a joke, Jules. Just with the Prime Minister allowing the police to investigate the police, there's a huge mistrust for the mere fact that Rosado could always influence. He is the Commissioner, he went on leave. Who knows if he's coming back? He could always make a call and say, boy, you know what, do this, do that, you know? How is it that someone smaller than the Commissioner could be appointed to investigate?"
"Well, I don't have confidence in Suzette Anderson. If she's the same regional commander. I don't have any confidence. As a matter of fact, the nation, and I am calling upon an independent investigation, what is hard for the Prime Minister to appoint an independent body to investigate this?"
Jules Vasquez
"Do you feel that you have proven right, because they put Barry Flowers on the interdiction, and he is the person in union. In our interview on Friday when you saw the photo, you said that is him. Do you feel any vindication? Do you feel that that you have been proven right?"
Joseph Budna, In Guatemala Prison
"Definitely, definitely Jules, definitely. But again let me tell you this, I'm not satisfy as yet because Barry Flowers did not acted upon, oh let's take Joseph Budna and dump him into Guatemala or let's kill Joseph Budna. They had to be higher up. It's political figures that are involved from the Briceno administration which I have been exposing from time to time when I start doing my live. So who does Joseph Budna kidnapping benefits? It's the Briceno administration."
Jules Vasquez
"Are you satisfied that maybe it's one step in the right direction?"
Joseph Budna, In Guatemala Prison
"Well, I will say, well, it is good. However, it's not good enough."
"One, because there was a promise to release these DVR footage to the nation. They have not been released. Why they have kept these things hidden from the nation? What is it that they are hiding?"
