At noon today, Prime Minister John Briceño announced his decision on what happens next in the Joseph Budna investigation - and tonight - it's being criticized by Budna himself, and the Leader of the Opposition.

First, the big takeaways: Commissioner of Police Richard Rosado has been sent home on a 45 day leave of absence. This is the first time in memory that the Commissioner of Police has been placed on mandatory leave. Second, PC Barry Flowers, who was identified by Joseph Budna as the un-masked officer in the abduction has been placed on interdiction. Third, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Suzette Anderson, has been assigned to lead the police investigation into the Budna abduction - and she should submit a complete report by the end of this month.

The other most notable takeaway is that the investigative report submitted to the Prime Minister last Friday has been deemed to be, quote, "incomplete and, therefore, unsatisfactory." That was submitted by Compol Rosado and that's why he was placed on leave because of the quote, "grave allegations made against the Police Department and the incomplete investigative report." Deputy Commissioner Bart Jones is now Acting Commissioner during Commissioner Rosado's absence. Rosado has only been Commissioner for 131 days.
