Every month there are approximately 250 births at the KHMH. Many times, those who come to the Karl Heusner to deliver children cannot afford to supply their newborns with their everyday necessities. That's where a donation today at the KHMH comes in. As part of San Cas and the Kimberly Clarke Corporation, today the KHMH received a commitment to help newborn children. Every quarter-year, the KHMH will be supplied with a quantity of newborn diapers and baby wipes to help the institution provide service to children who are born there and whose mothers are unable to afford to purchase their own. Aisha Trapp, Product Line Supervisor at San Cas explains how it will work.
Aisha Trapp, San Cas
"Its just taking responsibility for what the nurses and other personnel have been doing and that goes unnoticed. What happened is women come into the hospital to have their babies and they don't have anything with them, not even diapers. So what we are doing is just giving them a little start, giving them a little pack of diapers and wipes to help them with their newborn baby and alleviate that stress from the nurses and the other personnel here at the hospital. What we do is pass on the diapers to the hospital, we're going to give them quarterly twelve cases and they can just use their discretion upon the needs of that patient. We want to give them a little startup."
Under the arrangement the Kimberly Clarke Corporation the manufacturers of Huggies will supply the diapers while San Cas will pay for the freight.
