Child Dies After Swallowing Kinep Seed

Today, a 7 year-old child in Toledo is dead, after she swallowed a kinep seed.

According to the child's mother, she swallowed a kinep seed yesterday afternoon, and started having difficulty breathing. The child was taken to the Bella Vista Health Clinic, where the doctors tried but could not get out the seed.

The 7 year-old girl died, and most likely airway blockage was the cause. One medical professional told 7News that the seed must have gone into the breathing tube - instead of the esophagus - and blocked off her breathing and oxygen.
