And that result is coming off a weekend which saw the same trend coming out of test results from Orange Walk.

Between, Saturday and Sunday there were a total of 123 positive results reported countrywide, and 67 of them - more than half - came out of the Orange Walk district. And - as you just heard - there's also 10 more coming out of that district today.

As Epidemiologist, Dr. Russell Manzanero said on Friday, this is because surveillance teams went north to find those infected cases:

Dr. Russell Manzanero, Epidemiologist, Ministry of Health
"In this entire week our surveillance officer went with the entire team to the different villages, we do know that they were in San Felipe, San Jose, Santa Martha doing a sweep of the cases who are symptomatic and of course the contact of those who are already positive we did gather that that they are close to over 200 swabs have been submitted. So those amount of tests are at the central lab. We do expect that there will be an increase of cases to be reported from these areas."

Notably the cases detected in Orange Walk include 20 new positives from San Felipe Village - which has already registered two deaths. Also, there were 17 cases coming out of San Pedro Town in Saturday's tests alone. We also note that Saturday's tests show 5 new cases from Independence village. We are told this includes frontline workers which has led to a Facebook post from the village clinic urging villagers to call or send a text message before going to the clinic with any respiratory or flu like symptoms.
