Belize has logged the largest single day tally of COVID related deaths: 4 people died today.
They are 3 men and 1 woman all from Orange Walk - two from the town, 1 from San Felipe village, and 1 from Trinidad village.
Three of them died at the Northern Regional Hospital and one died at the KHMH's ICU.
It's very distressing news and in daily testing returns, Orange Walk continues to show the most cases.
175 tests were processed today with 39 positive tests - for a positivity rate of 23%.
Today, the Belize district has the most cases with 14 - 9 in the city, 1 in Ladyville, 1 in Caye Caulker, 2 in San Pedro, and 1 imported from Guinea Grass.
The Orange Walk District has 11 cases, 5 in the town, 1 each in Trial Farm, Carmelita, August Pine Ridge, Trinidad, Tower Hill, and San Felipe.
Corozal - another hotspot - has 12, 4 in the town, 3 in Xaibe, 2 in Santa Clara, 1 in Progresso, 1 in Calcutta, and 1 in Concepcion.
There are now 817 active cases, and 2,243 total since March.
