And while the BPP is running its candidates as independents - one former UDP candidate is also taking that route.
Former one term UDP area rep for Lake I Mark King has sent a letter to the Chief Elections Officer informing her of his intent to run as an independent candidate in the Mesopotamia division.
He says he will be running under the colour burgundy - not very different from the UDP's red.
And then he puts his address which he claims is 74 Dean Street - right up the road from us - and as far as we know - he isn't regularly resident there - nor - as far as we could find out - is he a registered voter in Mesop.
King signed the letter and seems to have witnessed it himself as JP attesting, quote, "I hereby certify that this is a true likeness of the applicant".
