And one of government's chief advisors on public health strategy is very much in favour of stricter measures controlling population movement.
The Deputy Regional Manger for the Central Health Region, Dr Melissa Diaz says they must strike a balance: restricting movement while not stifling the economy.

"Definitely I feel that new measures are needed, it's no secret that the ministry of Health and wellness, we do need help with a virus that spreads the way that COVID-19 spreads. Reduction of movement and the way that we could reduce movement is to enforce and improve our public health measures, that's something that we've always been asking for. It doesn't necessarily need to include a very hard line restriction but we've got to find a way, and we've always said we've got to find a way to be open for economic reasons and as well be safe in order to reduce the spread of Covid."
