And right about now, a containment of the spread is what every healthcare worker countrywide is crying out for. As for Diaz, she says she's overwhelmed.

Reporter
"Are you overwhelmed in your daily duties?"

Dr. Melissa Diaz Musa, Deputy Regional Manager, Central Health Region
"Yes, absolutely. I think the entire Ministry of Health, Karl Heusner team - we are all overwhelmed. Its slightly different from last year, because it's the exact same team that vaccinating, that's doing contact tracing, visiting homes, giving advice, doing the swabbing, giving results, doing clearance and then of course the Karl Heusner team that takes care of all patients who need admissions as well. So it is very overwhelming for us. I always say that Cleopatra White (clinic) is now the flu clinic and on a daily basis they would see over a hundred patients a day for just swabbing and monitoring with flu-like symptoms. that doesn't include other things like clearance, like follow ups etc."

"So, we are very overwhelmed, but we do know that we can control the virus. We do know that there are things that we can do in our community to make a difference and we are appealing to the general public to help us in this regard, to help us to reduce the spread, to help us in the work places, to do certain things like face-to-face meetings, lunch meetings - all these things to completely stop all of that. Have 50% staff or do a shift system with your staff. The staff members who can work from home please go ahead and let them work from home, so that if there is a positive case in your office, there is less spread that would occur."
