But even though Baird encouraged the public to get vaccinated, he's not so sure about the strict regulation limiting access to public buildings that's slated to come into effect on October 1st.

He explained that he feels the government lacks the proper medical advice to make certain decisions, and is just borrowing from other countries. He also said that they have to bring back an oversight committee.

"Personally, I am on the fence with that. I think one of the things that our government does is to keep on copycat from the region and some other countries in the world, but in some case, sometimes we may have to take the lead and develop our own policies that fit for our country and not just what fits for the region or what fits in other parts of the world. So I think in making some of these decisions the government needs to rethink, go back to the table and consult with the proper personals that have the expertise in these areas. We have well educated, talented people in Belize and in the health field. We know that the government is going to reinstitute the oversight committee and that's a wonderful thing, because that is where you have people of expertise to advise the government on what needs to be done. That oversight committee should have never been diluted. It should keep in place as a part of continuance so that the government could have been better advised."
