"Personally, I came to know Dr. Jose Can through the internship program. he started the program in January of 2020 and during the one year internship program he rotated at different places, different specialties at the hospital at KHMH. I am as supervisor of the internship program in surgery and this is a rotation of 2 months. Dr. Can, he participated during the rotation at surgery. The opinion that our peers, the colleagues there, the doctors and nurses and all the staff at KHMH have a very good opinion of Dr. Can. he is seen as a person who is very persevering in the face of every huge challenges. he was able to surmount a lot of difficulties that he faced during his training and his career and he was seen as a person who related very well with his patients and the staff alike."

"This has devastated the notice of Dr. Can's passing and in the way it was - was very devastating to us and Dr. Can is a member of the Belize Medical and Dental Association as you well know, its a national medical association that represents the physicians in Belize and internationally. Dr. Can is a member of this important association and the members and physicians of the society of doctors here in Belize are devastated and with great sadness we have received this information."
"From a personal of view and from the point of view of the relatives particularly the wife, that Dr. Can is a person who is loving, compassionate and very responsible towards his family; sons, wife and towards his profession. He is particularly caring towards the village of San Felipe from where he comes of which he is very proud of and she also mentions that the dream of his was to educate his children to become very good citizens."
