According to the Reuters news agency, Back in June, U.S. "Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced visa restrictions for several unnamed Central American government officials he said were connected to Cuban medical mission programs that include elements of forced labor and the exploitation of Cuban workers.
Rubio did not name the officials nor the countries they are from."
So, does it include Belize? Well, more than two months later, Minister of Health Kevin Bernard told us his visa has not been cancelled or restricted. He says he has gotten no notice from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Belize has stated that it pays Cuban doctors and does not. Engaged in forced labor.
