The markets in the north have demonstrated their wariness for Belize but the country now has a new friend in the south, Brazil and its populist leader, Lula. This evening, Belize's Prime Minister Said Musa and President Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva signed an agreement dealing with visas, technical assistance for the sugar industry, soybean production and in the area of HIV and Aids. The 14 point, 4 page resolution deals generally with a number of issues concerning international trade and sovereignty issues but seems to fall short with specific, programmatic proposals. With this, the Prime Minister concludes his trip to Brazil. He was accompanied by Foreign Minister Godfrey Smith, and Health Minister Vildo Marin.
