We've all seen those vehicles driving around with no licenses on their bumper or tail end. Well, the Department of Transport says no more. They today announced that they will be cracking down on vehicles that don't have plates, and those that are using unauthorized plates.

They say that this initiative is the first phase of a series of targeted enforcement to address, quote, "the many infractions of the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act".

This operation will include routine vehicle checkpoints on all public highways, and spot checks during monitoring exercises and patrols.

So, all drivers and registered owners of vehicles are advised to ensure that all license plates are properly affixed in the right locations before driving on any public road.

If you didn't know, the law says that your license plate has to be visible and legible form up to 20 yards away under any and all lighting conditions.
