And another project that will soon be opening is the Haulover Bridge. Last week, we gave you an update on how that's coming along, and today the minister said that it will be completed by the end of the year.
Julius Espat, Minister of Infrastructure

"It should be done. And the original estimated completion was in October, but due to some delays with equipment and material and you know, the other everything that happened, it's going to be completed by the end of December. So I think the opening will be around January. Again we are dealing with local engineers, woman engineers supervising it. Male Belizean engineer designing and building it."
"Local craftsmen. Local workers. Local Belizean engineers from our ministry supervising it. We are getting there, guys. We really are. And we have to promote that. And I am a product of of everything from from primary school all the way. And all the people that I work with within the ministry, they are eager and sometimes they get frustrated when you have a situation in a ministry where they are not being respected and so you have all this talent sitting down and sucking up their teeth saying well, I won't do anything if nobody cares. So we give them that opportunity. We give them the opportunity our CEO and our chief engineer sits with them every week. We have a what we call a technical meeting where they go to all their concerns. They give us their advice, we put it together, we listen to them, and then we move on."
"I think it's a good it's a good start and we have to better it. We Belizeans have to learn to work together. And once we do it, we can compete with anybody."
