And while Briceno will pile the pressure on on Sunday, the UDP's super - minister says he's ready to or already dealing with the NTUCB demands on UNCAC and an investigation into John Saldivar. Here's what he told the media today about implementing UNCAC:
Peyrefitte took up the National Security portfolio earlier this week.
Michael Peyrefitte - Minister of National Security
"The United Nations themselves have advised us to wait on the final framework. But I told the legal committee to meet now if they want and discuss the summer report. But they are not responding to me."
Reporter
"And what about that call for that independent investigation on John Saldivar?"
Michael Peyrefitte
"What do you mean call? It has already been called. It is taken place as we speak. I can tell you that as the Minister of National Security."
Reporter
"Independent."
Michael Peyrefitte
"What is independent? Appoint Said Musa, John Briceno and who, who else Julius Espat?"
Reporter
"Not carried out by the government."
Michael Peyrefitte
"Appointing an international body, is indicating that we have no confidence in our local authorities. I have every confidence in our local authorities. I met with the different section chiefs, COMPOL. Head of Coast Guard and BDF, and I can tell you, outstanding Belizeans, who have nothing but the best interest of Belize at all. If they had to carry out an investigation, I trust that it will be as good if not better than what any other international supposedly better organization can do."
