Of course, Faber's faithful are highly displeased with the outcome. That prompted the party's Freetown caretaker, OJ Elrington to post on his page that the "D" in the UDP - now stands for a dictatorship. Today, chairman Peyreffite brushed that off:

Jules Vasquez
"Sir, I see that a man known to be an attorney for Mr. Faber, OJ Elrington, a stalwart of your party, a caretaker representative, he has posted that the D in UDP is for dictatorship. This is the party you preside over sir. What do you make of his comment?"

Hon. Mike Peyrefitte, Chairman, U.D.P.
"Did he say who was the dictator or where did he get the dictatorship from or was he saying that Hon. Patrick Faber was or is, who did he say was the dictator? How can you say its not your intention to resign when you have already resigned? Like I say if they want to take it to court, the courts are wide open."

Jules Vasquez
"The interpretation one would take is that events of the NPC railroaded the resignation of Mr. Faber which was not his expressed wish and he told you that in a letter on February 4th in an email."

Hon. Mike Peyrefitte, Chairman, U.D.P.
"When Mr. Faber made his pronouncements to the world that he wanted to resign effective January 31st, everything that happens after January 31st, is immaterial. He had resigned by then and all that the NPC said was when he indicated to the nation and to the world that he was going to resign January 31st - he resigned and that's it. I don't know where the dictatorship thing come from. I mean nobody forced him to resigned. I will admit that I openly asked for him to resigned and he chose to go on television say he would resign. I don't know where the dictatorship thing come from."
