So while there is that ambiguous allegation of "dishonourable behaviour" left hanging like a sword of Damocles above the Deputy's head, the mayor said that what really tipped the scales against Councillor Goodin was the shootout where a youth shadow councillor was injured.
Bernard Wagner, Mayor Of Belize City
"One of the key ones I believe was the incident of the club matter. As an elected official you have to demonstrate good judgement at all times and if you are an elected official and you are with our shadow council or councillor socializing in that way. So, I believe all of that along with the series of events led to the councillor's not Mayor Wagner the councillors saying, and these are the same councillors who voted for deputy mayor so it's not that these councillors have anything against the deputy it's just that they gave him an opportunity to be the deputy mayor and to serve in that very responsible capacity and they just felt that he hasn't been living in what they had put him in."
