And moving on to today's Sitting of the Senate, the first topic up for debate was a 6.2 million dollar loan motion to support the government's COVID Response Project.

While normally using money to aid the efforts of fighting the pandemic aren't scrutinized intensely, the UDP senators all stood up to question this loan motion, noting that - to their understanding - it is not a new motion, but rather one that is being brought to the House after the fact.

Two social partner senators also rose with their own concerns - Elena Smith questioned the need for yet another loan, which will ultimately add to the national debt, and Janelle Chanona asked to be updated on the current COVID response.
