House Debates 150 Million Dollar Loan

Earlier in the news, we showed you the return of the UDP's Patrick Faber to the National Assembly after months of absence from House Meetings.

Well, he returned just in time to bolster the loud objections from the Opposition UDP on a new group of loan motions coming from the Briceno Government. The largest is a loan for 150 million Belize dollars from the Taiwanese Government. This generous bilateral partner is offering financial support to Belize through a long-term, low-interest loan, which will be provided by the Export-Import Bank of the Republic of China in Taiwan.
